Swamp soccer: footballers battle it out in mud for World Cup spot

Dozens of footballers participated in the mud pitch at the prestigious soccer stadium in Saint Petersburg, Russia to kick off Local seeks to visit a World Cup in the mud in August 2019 in Finland.


The first-ever World Cup for the Swamp World Cup (1998) was originally from Finland is when a nationwide team uses natural mud puddles to train football.​The World Cup in the mud plays a 30-by-60-meter pitch. Each player has 6 players and one goalkeeper. Play 12 minutes in one tier with two-tier games. World Cup in the mud fights each year. This year, the tournament begins next month, with around 200 teams and more than 2,000 players joining Hyrynsalmi, Finland.


Over the years, football in the mud has increased its popularity and has been used to compete in a country Numbers such as Germany, Russia, Iceland, Scotland, and India.
