Apple wants to launch self-made products by 2021

Apple has announced plans to acquire Intel's $1 billion Intel smartphone modems. The acquisition means Apple can secure thousands of patents and about 2,200 employees will support Apple's production of the Modem 5G.

Apple did not say when the Modem 5G would be ready. But a person familiar with the matter told Reuters that Apple wants its Modem 5G ready for use in the product. By 2021 Compared to Intel's, the goal is to release the Modem 5G by 2020. This delay could allow Apple to better develop the Modem 5G before releasing it on the market. It has not been confirmed that Apple's first 5G product will be the iPhone or iPad.
